1 / Why don't you take insurance?
-
When PT contracts with insurance, INSURANCE dictates what they will/won't pay for in your care. THEY decide how much and what kind of care I'm allowed to provide you with.
-
Cash-based PT allows you to know your investment up front with no surprise bills months later. I am able to tailor treatments and frequencies to your specific needs and goals improving your experience and overall efficiency of care.
2 / What are your rates?
-
Rates are dependent upon location (in-home vs a designated treatment space) and the type of service provided (i.e. evaluation, treatment session, wellness service)
-
A travel fee ($0.70/mile) may be included if meeting outside of McPherson County.
-
I do accept HSA/FSA (check with your provider for eligibility), cash, check, debit/credit cards at time of service.
-
Superbills can be provided upon request.
-
Contracting rates for providers are also available upon request
3 / So what's a superbill?
-
While I don’t bill insurance directly, many choose to request superbills which can be submitted to insurance for possible reimbursement for PT services.
-
Please understand, insurance dictates reimbursement rates, not Little Way PT so I highly encourage you to call your insurance ahead of time and ask:
-
“Do I have out-of-network benefits for physical therapy?”
-
“What is my OON deductible and co-insurance rate?”
-
“Do I need a referral or pre-authorization?”
-
“What is the allowed amount for CPT codes like 97162, 97110 and 97140?”
-
In many cases the cost for participating in cash-based PT is less than utilizing your insurance. This is largely due to being able to charge less per visit than the national average.
4 / What can I expect from a home visit?
-
As your mobile therapist, I bring the clinic to you. No need to clean up or dress up. Stay as you are. All I ask is you set aside a towel, pillow and sheet for internal exams if we determine there is a need.
-
Your first visit will largely include a review of your medical history, a functional/movement exam, and possibly an internal exam to assess your pelvic floor muscles specifically.
-
We will discuss any expectations and goals you have as well as provide some initial education and practical exercise prescription for you to start working on between visits.
5 / What's your cancellation policy?
-
I ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance may be subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the original session rate. Missed appointments without notice (no-show) may be charged 100% of the service fee.
-
This policy helps respect not only my time, but also that of other clients who may benefit from that time slot.
6 / What if I can't meet in person?
-
I require your first visit to be in person in order to fully understand and appreciate your unique physical characteristics, functional capacity/tendencies and support/environment.
-
Follow-up visits, while in-person is always ideal, can be modified to a tele-health option quite successfully.
-
No matter what your availability - I want to be able to help you reach your goals.
7 / Do I need my doctor to write a referral?
-
No, Kansas is a direct access state, meaning a physician referral is not required to receive physical therapy services.
8 / Do I need childcare for my appointment?
-
Nope! The beauty of in-home visits is that you and your kids can be comfortable in your own space. We can work around nap schedules and the expected interruptions that might arise. I also always welcome any chance to snuggle a baby!
-
Should you feel that your situation would benefit from having a spouse, significant other, family member or friend help to attend to your children while we meet, that is always okay.
9 / What if I want to work with you, but just not in my home?
-
No problem! I've designated alternate treatment locations to accomodate as needed. Let me know of your preference when completing your new patient paperwork or when coordinating for follow-up sessions.
-
My goal is always to make your access to therapy as convenient as possible.
